World Nomads Travel Insurance
Having travel insurance is important and some even choose not to have one but honestly, accidents do happen and they also seem to happen when you least expect it & least need it.
Medical bills can cost a fortune abroad and by having travel insurance, you can have peace of mind.
We recommend World Nomads Travel Insurance as they offer simple and flexible travel insurance and safety advice to help you travel confidently, destination guides and tips to help you plan your trip, and responsible travel insights to help you travel better.
Why do we recommend World Nomads?
- Trip cancellation insurance: They will reimburse you 100% in credit if you cancel a trip for one of the reasons stated in your policy.
- Travel medical insurance: Travel medical insurance can cover emergency medical costs up to the limits of your plan if you get sick or hurt while travelling. These costs may include prescriptions, lab fees, and hospital and doctor bills.
- Emergency medical evacuation: Emergency medical evacuation insurance will pay for a medevac to take you to the nearest hospital that can treat your condition if you get hurt or ill while travelling and need to be transported. Transportation can also be arranged through the emergency assistance department of your travel insurance provider.
- Travel delay insurance: Travel delay insurance pays out additional expenses, such as a hotel room for an overnight delay, up to the amount specified in your policy if your trip is delayed due to an event covered by your plan.
- Travel interruption insurance: If you have to cut your trip short, trip interruption insurance can cover the cost of a last-minute flight home and any lost money from non-refundable activities and hotel stays.
- Baggage and personal effects: If your luggage is lost or stolen, baggage travel insurance can make up the difference up to the policy limits. Your luggage and what you packed will be reimbursed for their depreciated value. It can cover the cost of any necessities you purchase to get you by if your bags are delayed. If they are stolen, lost, or damaged, it also includes your personal belongings. Check your policy to see what is covered as some exclusions may apply.
World Nomads Travel Insurance Plans
You can choose between the Standard and Explorer plans from World Nomads.
Standard Plan
This cost-effective plan includes pre- and post-departure coverages for baggage and personal effects as well as trip cancellation, delay, and interruption insurance, emergency evacuation, and emergency medical insurance. Additionally, it offers emergency medical care and evacuation in the event that you get hurt while taking part in high-risk activities like parasailing, mountain biking, or bungee jumping.
Explorer Plan
All of the coverages present in the Standard plan are present in this travel insurance policy, but the coverage limits are increased. Examples include an increase in emergency evacuation coverage from $300,000 to $500,000. Furthermore, you receive a few extra advantages like coverage for rental car damage and protection for riskier activities like cliff jumping, free soloing, and scuba diving.
Note that Covid is a disease that is covered by both plans. Along with emergency medical coverage and medical evacuation coverage, this also includes trip cancellation and interruption coverage.

Pre-existing conditions, according to the insurer, are those for which you have displayed symptoms, were examined, treated, or advised to undergo examination, or for which you were given a prescription within 90 days of the start date of your policy.
However, in some circumstances, a stable pre-existing condition that is being managed with prescription medication may be covered.
