If you’re looking for an iconic hotel in Singapore to stay in, where else but Raffles Hotel. The name itself marks the brand of The Lion City.
It is located in the downtown core of Singapore, on Beach Road. It was built in 1887 and was named after a British statesman Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles who is the founder of colonial-era Singapore. Raffles Hotel Singapore is part of Accor, the leading Augmented Hospitality hotel group worldwide.

Room Type & Facilities
Raffles Hotel is a luxury hotel and all room types are suites. There are a total of 9 suites – Studio Suites, State Room Suites, Courtyard Suites, Palm Court Suites, Personality Suites, Residence Suites, Promenade Suites, Grand Hotel Suites and Presidential Suites. Each of these rooms has its style and prices to match.
I find the Personality Suites to be the most interesting as the suites are a tribute and have unique memorabilia to renowned guests who have visited the hotel over the last century.
How to Book?
There are multiple ways to book in this day and age. In my opinion, it’s best to go straight to the hotel website. There just may be some promotion going on that offers you extra item, compared to the usual cheap price you can get on the general hotel booking website.
If you are spending on a luxury stay, why not tailor it to your needs rather than just to save? It will give you the most of your experience and satisfaction.
The location is excellent with Raffles Hotel. It is just around the corner from Suntec City for you to do some shopping. A 5-minute drive from The Esplanade which means you can walk to see another Singapore icon, Merlion and also go for a boat ride at Clarke Quay.
Cross over The Helix Bridge and you have arrived at Marina Bay Sands, another 5 – 10 minutes from Merlion.
During this pandemic, please be sure to always wear your mask and not get too close to others. The hotel provides Easy cancellation or date change within reason.
