How To Disable Off-Facebook Tracking Activity
Recently I’ve discovered that Facebook has shared my data with over 400+ apps and websites.

What Is Off-Facebook Activity?
Below is what Facebook mentioned on their site. Yes, but they are not being specific, which company will these days?
Off-Facebook activity includes information that businesses and organisations share with us about your interactions with them. Interactions are things such as visiting their website or logging in to their app with Facebook. This does not include customer lists that businesses use to show a unique group of customers relevant ads.
How Activity Is Shared With Facebook?
When you visit a website or an app, companies or organisations (Linked/Paid to Facebook) can share information about what you doing online with Facebook using Facebook business tools.

This tracker will show you 180 days’ worth of the data Facebook collects about you from the many organizations and advertisers in cahoots with it. Yes, they collect even when you’re NOT online on Facebook and share it with others. You can view your Facebook activity list.
If you care about your privacy, you should turn off this option. To do so, follow the steps below:
How To Disable Off-Facebook Activity
Desktop/Tablet Device
Click in the top right of Facebook.
Select Settings & Privacy.
Click Settings
Choose Privacy on the left tab
click on Your Facebook Information in the left column & then click Off-Facebook Activity on the right.
Click on Manage Your Off-Facebook Activity on the right screen
Click on Clear History to clear your current off-Facebook activities and accept the warning message. Once that is done, click on Manage Future Activity on the right.
You will now get the screen below, Click on Manage Future Activity.
Slide left to disable Future Off-Facebook Activity
Click Turn Off to confirm the selection.
That’s it! Your have disabled “Off-Facebook Activity”.
Mobile Device
- Click on your profile picture at the top right
- Select Settings & Privacy, then click Settings.
- Click Off-Facebook Activity.
- Click on Clear History to clear your current off-Facebook activities.
- Next, click More Options.
- Now, click on Manage Future Activity.
- Slide left to disable Future Off-Facebook Activity
Conclusion
Whilst Facebook is a great social media platform but it should not own your privacy.
